Qasida Guidelines
Use of Navigation Menu
There are several ways in which the qasida module can be used. Look at navigation menu and see how you can benefit from the qasida module. You can click on any resource that you think might be of use to you.
You can use one of more of the resources flexibly and simultaneously, (e.g. full audio and translations) if that suits you. They can be used as independent resources or taught by a teacher/parent.
Use of Khulaso (Summary)

The child can study the khulaso with the input of a teacher to retain an overall idea of the key points of the qasida.

Parents/teachers should use the write up and go through it with the child and help them to understand it

Children can review it independently for revision
Use of Arabic Script

The written Arabic script can be used for reciting with or without the audio help
Use of Full Audio

Play the audio and listen. Recite alongside if you can by ear. The hearing and reciting of a Qasida written by our hudat kiram is a source of Barakat, even if it is a language you might not understand, because of the words of blessing that it contains.

Play the audio and use the Arabic script to recite alongside it. As mentioned in the first bullet, this is a source of Barakat.

Use of Dawat ni Zaban Translation

The full translations are for advanced users and may be used for more detailed study:

As part of a study session with a teacher/parent. The teacher could encourage pre-reading before the actual lesson time.

Parents/Teachers can identify:

Key words of expressions they wish to elucidate and discuss as useful points

Help the child read it and identify key difficulties, in reading words or in understanding, and clarify.

For enthusiastic students who are able, the translations may also be used for independent study.

The child can identify any areas they find difficult to read or understand and seek clarification

Use of English Translation

The full translations are for advanced users and may be used for more detailed study.

The child can identify any areas they find difficult to read or understand and seek clarification

Use of Audio Grid

Play the audio and use it to memorize individual verses.

Play the audio whilst looking at the script, and try and recite after it.

Do this till you feel, or your teacher tells you, that you have perfected the pronunciation of the verse.

Recite half the verse 5 times

Recite the second half of the verse 5 times

Recite the whole verse 5 times

See if you can recite it now without looking or listening to the audio.

If you can move to the next verse.

If you can’t try reciting it a few more times or move on and next time, return to the verse that still needs attention.

Look at the few key vocabulary for each verse and learn them by

Writing them down with their translations

Covering up the translation and trying to recollect the meanings

Point to the key words in the verse and say its meaning out aloud
